Matcha Iced Latte with Coconut Milk

Matcha Preparation
  • 3 tsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1 cup hot water (around 175°F or 80°C)
Coconut Milk Mixture
  • 2 cup coconut milk (canned or carton)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Serving
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp toasted coconut flakes (optional, for garnish)
  • 4 mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preparing the Matcha
  1. Sift the matcha green tea powder into a bowl to remove any clumps.
  2. Add the hot water to the sifted matcha powder gradually, whisking vigorously in a zigzag motion until the powder is fully dissolved and a frothy layer forms on top.
Preparing the Coconut Milk Mixture
  1. In a separate bowl or a large measuring cup, combine the coconut milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and the syrup is fully incorporated.
Assembling the Drink
  1. Fill four glasses with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the prepared matcha into each glass, dividing it evenly.
  3. Top each glass with the coconut milk mixture, pouring gently to create a layered effect.
  4. Stir gently to combine the matcha and coconut milk if desired.
Garnishing and Serving
  1. If using, garnish each glass with toasted coconut flakes and a mint leaf for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
